What is your recommended birth control?

Hi guys, I just wanted to ask about experiences and what you recommend for birth control? I’m thinking about either nexplanon or the shot.
Please let me know!

I would never recommend the shot because with every other birth control you can quit it right away if the side effects are terrible. With the shot, you have to deal with it for at least 3 months, if not longer until it's completely metabolized by your body. The Nexplanon and IUDS have the highest satisfaction rates among the different types of birth control and they are also the most effective so those might be good ideas.

Everyone is different! Gathering experiences like this is a great idea but don’t feel bad if you have to shop around a little bit to find what works for you. I tried the pill for a while I don’t remember which one. It started with an L. It was HORRIBLE. It made me unbearably nauseous out of nowhere and it made me super dizzy. Those two symptoms alone were so severe I just had to stop. I couldn’t do it. 
Then I tried the NuvaRing and honestly it’s been a lot better. I’ve been on it for a few months now and I’ve noticed it messes with my mood a little bit, like it changes the way I feel, but that’s been my only noticeable symptom.
And like I said everyone’s different! Maybe I’ll try another form of hormone therapy just to see if it’s any better but I’ve been happy with the ring overall. Just try stuff until you find what works.

Do not get the shot! It's terrible. The nexplanon implant is actually a great alternative. Like the previous comment said, it is one of the most effective methods (more than 99%). Chance of pregnancy is fewer than 1 out of 100 women each year. I've had mine for about 2 years and I love it! Irregular bleeding/periods is the most common side effect, which I experience. First two months it made my period longer and a bit heavier but after those first couple months up til now, I haven't gotten a period. I do get slight cramping but it's worth it. It also increased my sex drive. Didn't mess with my weight or cause acne either. Personally, I highly recommend this method. Bring this method up to your doctor so you two can discuss because you two know your body better than us! Just pick the method that's best for you (:
