He wasn't the first to break my heart but he was the first man to break it.. So yeah my dad broke my heart before any other man could get the chance to by passing away at the age of 47. I was only 21 and had lost my mum 2 years prior. It's something I can never get over

My heart was broken by my dad in a different way, when I learned he wasn't my biological dad. But remembering all of his actions, the selflessness he had raising me into who I am, the commitment he chose for me when adopting me, healed the hurt pretty quickly. Looking back I was so hurt during that period of time but in the grand scheme of things, he always had my best interests in mind.

My dad was never part of my life. I'm the second oldest out of his 4 children. He missed every birthday, my high school graduation and college graduation. He's a grandfather now with 4 grandkids. He's slowly losing his hearing so one day, he won't be able to hear at all. I wish the best for him and hope he gets out of the dark hole he's in.
