Preterm labor scare at 31 weeks

So on Tuesday I woke up with tightening and really bad period cramps... I had prenatal that morning so I just assumed they were Braxton Hicks and waited out the pain until the appointment. Little did I know Braxton Hicks don’t feel like bad period cramps and typically don’t follow with diarrhea .. I got to prenatal and was put on a fetal monitor strip where the contractions were picked up.

Where I’ve had a LEEP procedure they decided to do a vaginal ultrasound of the cervix to see if it had shortened and it has from 2.8 cm at 20 weeks to 1.8 at 31 weeks. Since there’s been so many weeks in between I have another ultrasound next week to see if it will thin again. But I’m not dilated at all!

I was given the two shots of steroids to strengthen the baby’s lungs and so far since Tuesday I haven’t had any more cramping. Just wondering what people’s experiences are with scares like this, were you successful to carry at least until 36 weeks? Anyone with a leep procedure have preterm complications?
