Attracted to somebody not your type?

Have you ever been attracted and in long term relationship with somebody who wasn't your type?

Yesterday I had conversation (over WhatsApp) with my boyfriend and he told me that I am not his type. Then he said that it doesn't mean that he's not attracted to me. After long gap because I didn't know what to say to that he said "You'd be my type if you'd be few centimeters shorter." I am 165 cm.

Now I've never been attracted to somebody not my type and it's hard to believe. And I think even sexually I wouldn't be able to be with somebody who's not my type.

What is your opinion?
