I would say whenever they are old enough to understand. Whenever u feel they will really get it and are able to explain it. I don’t think it’s fair to wait too too long. But only you can determine when u think they will understand

I’d start casually speaking about it at a young age.... not sure why parents wait like it’s some big secret, and then their kids feel betrayed. 
Incorporate it in everyday life, from as early as possible, in my opinion. 
At the end of the day, you *chose* your baby and that should be celebrated, not hidden, in my opinionZ

Adult child of adoption here 🙋🏻‍♀️ My parents must’ve let me know pretty early because I literally cannot remember a time that I didn’t know I was adopted, and personally I feel they made the best decision letting me know as soon as possible. I grew up letting the facts float around my head, and now I even have a wonderful relationship with my biological mom. Best of luck to you!

Never hide it. I was in that situation a while ago trying to adopt my sisters toddler. My partner and I agreed to tell her that she may not have came from my tummy, she came from my heart. If they're old enough to ask, they're old enough to get an age appropriate answer imo.
