I watch this YouTube couple that adopted 2 babies and they talk about them being adopted like all the time. They said when they look back they want their kids to say "Ya know, I don't ever remember finding out I just always knew." That way it was never traumatizing to them. They used things like national adoption day to talk to the babies about it! Which I think is a great idea!

I’d be talking about it their entire life. We talk to our 1 year old about her big sister— we lost our first baby.

just as early as they can understand. and I don't think it should be made into a big deal.

as soon as they can understand what it means. the younger the better. it helps them cope and they don't feel impacted by an identity crisis  (so to say) as they get older. I was told at a young age and grew up knowing. it was much easier to accept and it wasn't something I thought about often. the longer you wait, the harder it is for the child to cope
