is diarrhea really a sign of labor?

I'm 34+2 and the past few days I've been feeling really out of it... I've been contracting, constant BH and very tired.  Well today I have had horrible diarrhea, I've been drinking plenty of water, eating right. I'm just scared I'm going to go into labor and I don't want too!

I been having diarrhea pains but not going... the cramps are there... so I was wondering the same thing. I didn’t have any of this my first pregnancy my water just broke and then labor start after...

I didn’t make it until the end of my pregnancy last time bc my little guy came early but if this is what happens in late pregnancy, I’m thrilled 😂😂 I’ve been lucky to go 2-3 times a week.

I had diarrhea not to long ago and was also scared it may of been preterm labor sign. But at my doctors appointment yesterday she checked me and I’m not progressing yet. So I think it’s preparing the body but doesn’t mean actual labor is coming soon. But if you are worried talk to your doctor 😊

Just like you get constipated in early pregnancy because of the rise in hormones, a drop in hormones can cause an increase in your bowel movements, and hormone levels tend to drop at some point in late pregnancy. I pooped 7 times in a day at 35 weeks with my first (big change from my one a day when lucky) but I still made it to my due date.

I've had diarrhea for the past 2 days. had my appt today and asked  my OB just said your body is preparing. so it's normal.. not necessarily meaning you're in labor...however I read many signs and birth stories in here and diarrhea was early sign of labor. so I guess it varies but she checked me and I 0cm dialtion and I'm 37.3 weeks
