Formula cost?

How much is formula for the first year? I'm on WIC but I understand they don't give you enough formula and you have to pay out of pocket for any needed formula.

A lot! Its like 20-28 bucks for a few days worth my cans of similac never later more than 3-4 days wic is a huge help but I always had to buy more lucky I got food stamps at that time with #2 I won't

Coupons are great, but make sure you sign up on all the parenting/mommy/baby stuff websites and you will get a ton of free samples and amazing coupons.

Also writing to manufacturers can help out. My aunt lived in a tiny little town and when she had her twins one of them needed special soy formula that she had to drive hours to buy. (back in 1995 before she could go online) She wrote to similac to see if she could order a case and have it shipped and they sent her a box of 4 free cans with a letter and a phone number to call and order it shipped. She had it shipped to her house for almost 2 years.

Also check out your local grocery stores and see if they double/triple coupons.

Go for generic over what the doctor gives samples of. You want baby on $9 formula not $37 formula. Formula is tested so one doesn't have higher plastic content over the allowed %. So regardless of brand you don't need to worry because it's regulated.

My cans always lasted I think they give you 9 cans I don't know what they cost I never went over my baby isn't a big eater he is still on formula at 2 1/2 for medical reasons I still don't go over my cans

If you arent pregnant yet or are but haven't had a baby shower yet...try having a shower where you ask they ONLY bring formula and diapers. My friends just had a "diapers and formula for beer" party. Lololololol. They made out like BANDITS.

Similac is about $25 for the big cans. They usually lasted us about a week or so I think. They last longer in the beginning because baby is drinking less ounces.
