Has anyone tried nitrous oxide during labor? If so, what was your experience?

Not during labor (first LO is on the way but only 24 weeks so far), but I used NO2 when I had my wisdom teeth removed, and it was a complete waste of gas and time. It made me feel gross, like I was way too drunk and on the verge on getting the spins, and it did absolutely nothing to take away the pain. I ended up having the assistant take off the mask halfway through because it was making me feel seasick. And I NEVER get nauseous.

it was useless for me, literally just something to bite on while I hyperventilated into it lol.

For me, it didn't take away the pain, but it did make me high as a freaking kite. 😂 Thought I had discovered the secret to the universe. I used it while waiting for the anesthesiologist to administer my epidural ( had to wait an hour and the contractions were baaaad). I'd definitely do it again.

That's all I used 2nd time around and all I will be using this time too. 1st I had an epidural and hated it, pain was away completely but I was strapped to monitors and lying on a bed with no control or involvement in what was happening. with gas and air I could feel everything and if was painful but it was natural, I was mobile and felt my body take over and do what it was meant to do.

Didn’t work for me. However, I was much further along in labor than any of us realized so maybe that’s why? Maybe it works better in earlier labor
