Birth control question

I started BC last week. It was making me extremely nauseous to the point I was feeling really sick and dizzy work. I stopped taking it 3 days ago. I know it's because the certain I was taking wasn't working well with my body. I am now experiencing break through bleeding. Does anyone know how long this last? Also, should I still expect my period when it normally arrives?
