People will always have an opinion on your name choice- it’s much easier to announce names once they’re born as you rarely hear any negative opinions by then. We kept my sons name a secret and will be doing the same this pregnancy too. The important thing is that you like the name, not what other people think ☺️

My name is Lydia, I have adored it my entire life and get compliments on it as well. I rarely meet anyone with the same name which is a positive thing I think. It was indeed my great great grandmothers name and that actually makes me love it even more.

Don’t let anyone else’s opinion change your mind; you’re going to say the name the most, so use it as long as you love it! 
At first, we shared several girl names we were considering and everyone disliked the one we actually chose (Miriam), saying it sounds too old fashioned. Hubby and I love it, so we decided to not announce names until birth because I don’t care to hear anyone else’s opinions! 🤣
