10 year old daughter got her period

My daughter will be 11 in August, she got her period last week at school. Thankfully it was at the end of the day and there was no mess on her pants. I was 12 or 13 when I got my period.

We have been talking about puberty and periods for about a year now and I am so proud and amazed of her maturity level with now having her period. I remember the first I got mine and I just wanted to stay in my pjs and my bed, not her... she didn’t want to miss school, so we practised how to put pads on the night before so she would be prepared.

I guess I’m more nervous for her than she is given how young she is.

Any other parents in here have a daughter who got their period at a young age?
