I got my Paragard inserted almost one week ago at 8weeks postpartum and my doctor said she left the strings long and would cut them at my check up in one month. But when I got in the shower the next day I felt the strings hanging OUTSIDE of my vagina. Now almost a week later the strings are still poking me and are still hanging out of me. Is this normal? Or is my Paragard coming out? I had the Mirena inserted right after I gave birth but it came out a day later. I’m afraid it’ll happen again

Side note: I told my boyfriend about it and he said that she left them hanging outside of me when I had it inserted. He was there watching the whole thing. Did your doctor leave yours hanging out after inserting it too? You’d think they would cut them short right away?
