RE gift?

Question

For anytime that has had a successful IVF, did you give your RE a gift? I am in a very small practice so I’ve gotten to know everyone pretty well this past year and wanted to get them something!

When we had our first successful IVF we brought fresh baked goodies for everyone on our last appt.  we also brought our twins for a visit with flowers for the office and a thank you card for the RE and our nurse.  The office only had two RE’s at the time.  My nurse really connected with me and went above and beyond.  My Re is super personable and caring personality.  Now 11 years later we are back for IVf 2.  The staff has grown to a whopping 25 people there and 6 RE’s so I mainly see my nurse and Re when there.  I already take baked good my twins make with me ( they love getting freshly made stuff from the very kids they helped bring into this world). Both my nurse and RE goes way above to help us emotionally through this journey.  I always think it doesn’t cost a thing to show love and kindness.  In fact it really changes the  relationship with your provider when they are a caring person to begin with.  My RE takes extra time to chat and has even given us his personal cell.  So yeah I am very grateful for what they have done and I show the gratitude with what I can.  The whole staff knows I am the goodies customer. 😂 We are paying out of pocket for IVF and I remind myself that they have to get paid too,  just like the rest of us.  We plan to  bake cupcakes and bring some fresh meals for everyone at our discharge appt along with our kids who everyone is eager to meet at this point. I think it depends on your relationship with the office/ RE.  We have had a 12-13 year relationship with them at this point so to me it’s a no brainer really.

I must be a party pooper. A thank you note would suffice. You’ve already paid them tons, I’d consider that the gift.

I was thinking the same thing. I’m an upholsterer, and I was thinking of doing a chair or ottoman for their office. Or purchasing some meaningful art for their office?

I sent them a birth announcement with a nice thank you written on it.

In my opinion, a good review on yelp or google will be most appreciated by doctors or referrals. I’m in healthcare business and doctors usually not interested in baked goods (especially if you baked yourself) I don’t mean to be harsh, but doctors are afraid of home cooked food, because they have no idea how sanitized your house is. 
Different story for the staffs, I think they will appreciate and happy if you bring goodies for them. 
Save yourself some time and get baked goods at reputable bakeries. Since I’m in LA, Porto’s is way to go. It’s cheap, nobody dislike Porto’s 😋

My husband is a family physician and I would say give the staff a gift - the nurses and the office staff do the hardest work.   At least weekly my husband brings home candy, little plaques, statues and other trinkets.    Most end up going in the trash or donate pile because we can’t keep them all       I would (and hope to) write my RE a thank you card when we finish with them - successful or not that have helped me through a process.

when we got discharged to a regular obgyn I made 2 big banana breads for the staff.. they loved it.
