I went in for an ultrasound around 7 weeks and the baby was measuring a couple days behind but the heart was beating and I felt good. The next week my entire body broke out in unexplained hives. Nothing helped; oatmeal baths, Benadryl, sarna, ice, cold showers. I was so miserable. The hives continued to spread - my feet were so swollen I couldn’t walk and my eye even started to swell. The OB prescribed me a steroid which helped the outbreak. They said that the benefits greatly outweighed the risks.

At my 12 week ultrasound, I found out that our baby had stopped growing around the same time that I broke out in hives. Has anyone experienced something similar? Was my body trying to tell me something? I think about it all the time.
