Would you rather go into labor naturally or get induced? Please tell me why in the comments?

Induction although convenient put a lot of stress on your body and the baby. Thankfully mine didn’t lead to a C-section but I’ve found that most that are induced end up in surgery. Pitocin causes very intense contractions. Absolutely no fun & praying that my body knows what it’s supposed to do on its own this time around.

Personally, I’d like my baby to come whenever he/she is ready, mind you I’m 37+4 and anytime now would make me very happy and I’m bouncing on ball, eating dattes etc...But deep down, I’d like my baby to decide unless his/her life is in danger. Secondly, from my family members, friends and coworkers contractions on pitocin vs natural ones are two different level of pain. The ones done with pitocin are apparently much more awful than the natural ones. Again, some people do not agree with that but as a general rule, everyone I know that had both outcome said they would à million times go through the natural ones than the induced ones. I’m a ftm so I have absolutely NO experience what so ever on the subject.

The fewer interventions the better. It’s always the case. There are times intervention is necessary, but they should be used only when needed. Induction is very stressful on your body and baby. You’re FORCING your body to do something it’s not ready to do.

I got induced with my first and never again unless medically necessary.. like PP said it makes contractions feel horrible . Of course contractions are painful but when your induced man those contractions come from hell .. I personally will ask for a induction not until I hit 40-41 weeks unless doctor thinks we should do otherwise for the sake of baby and me .

I know I’m in the minority vote here but I was induced with my son and my experience was actually pleasant. I am going to be induced with my daughter in two weeks if I make it without going into labor. I feel like having a specific date makes it easier to be prepared 🤷🏻‍♀️

Naturally any day. I had to be induced with my son and it was horrible for both of us. Stacked contractions for me that came on extremely fast (I'm talking within like 20 minutes practically nothing then stacked. Awful). He was having a lot of trouble with each contraction and his heart rate kept dropping. We both came out of it okay but if I had the choice I would NOT do it again. This little girly is showing signs of arriving on her own early and I really hope that's the case (just not too early).

Pros of induction - it is life-saving for some women and babies.  There is also some research suggesting that a 39 week induction doesn't increase c-sections and might decrease the risks of pre-eclampsia and stillbirth.
However, I picked natural as my preferred.  I want to go without an epidural and induction makes that harder - it takes a tough mama to go through induction contractions without drugs.  Also, there is research that suggests it increases the risk of maternal hemorrhage and  between my anemia and family history of hemorrhage I don't want to increase my risk there.

Contractions are created by a wonderful hormone called oxytocin. It’s a feel good hormone. It’s the love hormone. 
Synthetic oxytocin ei. Pitocin or cintoncin (sp?) create the contractions but don’t give you the feel good hormones. 
Also during induction the contractions will be amped up to get things moving & they often come back to back. Naturally you’ll get breaks & many women say they feel completely normal between contractions & they can talk, laugh or eat if they want to. 
Induction can also be a slippery slope to needing interventions & can get you stuck on your back in a bed which is a terrible position for birth. 
Your body has grown your baby beautifully so far, so unless there’s a medical necessity for induction relax & let that magic body of your do its thing!
