How do you alternate Tylenol & Motrin?

I’ve always alternated and given it every 6 hrs. My 17month old has a fever and the doc is closed. My cousin says your suppose to give/alternate every 3-4 hrs. Is this correct? This is my first and she has 3 kids sooo...

I'm a RN and work for a pediatric office. We recommend alternating Tylenol and mortin every 4 hours but only if they have a fever. So if you give Tylenol, 4 hours later check the babies temp and if they have a fever you can give them Motrin. and then continue the pattern.

Pediatrician and several we doctors always recommended just following the label.Can be given the same time but following doses would be every 6 hours for motrin, Tylenol every 4 hours.  the liver filters one and kidney filters the other is why it's safe to combine but you don't want to OD on either so follow the label specifically
