How do you feel about the term "baby dust"?

I know people mean it as in fairy dust for good luck and I probably used it in the past as well. But now, it just makes me think of baby ashes. Actual dust that came from my baby. Maybe I'm just super sensitive...

I understand ur point of view. Never saw it that way though. I see it as positive. It's hard to really "say the right thing" when someone is ttc. Not everyone is religious so some might take prayers offensively.... When u say good luck it just seems kind of cold if it's not followed by something ... and it's not like ttc is a basketball game .... I usually like to mix good luck and baby dust together because it seems positive. Baby dust is gentle and not offensive in my opinion. It's like sparkles and rainbows lol. Idk It's just hard to come up with a "comforting phrase" so I guess that's why so many people say baby dust

I don't mind it, but the first time I came across it was when someone was cautioning against its use for the same reason you have outlined. I just imagine it as some sort of TTC/pregnancy fairy dust, wishing happiness/luck.

Yeah, but that's normal. I am constantly battling the urge to be oversensitive, since we cremated our daughter 3 months ago.
