When will you start maternity leave?

Hi guys, wondering when it’s typical for mamas to be to start their maternity leave. We don’t even get maternity leave, we can just use our accrued sick days for recovery post birth. However I realize it may be unreasonable to think I can work right up until the baby is born. What are you guys doing?

With my first I had to stop working at 8 months. I was having contractions like crazy abd could not work. I never went back and am now a stay at home mom

my goal is to work as long as i can. but my 1st i had high blood pressure at 36 weeks and got pulled out of work, im a nurse and was working 12 hr overnights.  had him on my due date. my 2nd i got taken out at 30 weeks because i had gestational diabetes and my numbers couldnt be regulated while working nights. im hoping this time i am on days and work shorter hours that i can make it close to my due date!

I won’t officially start maternity leave until baby is born but with my last pregnancy dr recommended I work from home last two weeks bc my blood pressure was constantly high and I was getting a lot of anxiety and stress. As soon as I switched to working from home my blood pressure dropped and I was feeling so much better. Unless dr prescribes sooner, I’ll probably ask to start work from home the week before I’m due.
