Early signs of pregnancy with PCOS?

Hi all, I was just wondering if early pregnancy looks different in women with PCOS? I’m TTC with PCOS, and I’m wanting to figure out how to tell if I should take a pregnancy test or not. Last month was the first month off birth control, and I felt super nauseous and had really tender breasts during my luteal phase, and I was convinced that I was pregnancy because I have never had those symptoms before. But I took a pregnancy test when I expected my period to come and it was negative. Then I started spotting and my period began. A friend of mine told me that PCOS symptoms can mimic those of early pregnancy; is this true?
