Should I take him to the E.R

Hi my 10 month old found a piece of raw chicken on the side of the strove from his dad cooking dinner yesterday. I just caught him eating it. Should I take him to the E.R or wait to see if he gets any symptoms. My friend said if he have no symptoms the hospital will just send us back home. Is that true? What should I do? Have any of you moms been thru this before??
