Ladies ! Question

How was your period after you got the Mirena IUD??? My doc said it could last up to 3-6 months but I find that ridiculous.. I know all bodies are different but I just want to know some things to possibly expect.. I’ve been on my period for the last 5ish weeks & 3 days ago it stopped & then I got spotting again..
