Teens having sex
Okay, I’m making this post because lately I’ve seen a lot of posts by young teens who are concerned they may be pregnant, when the situation doesn’t call for that concern.
I want to start with, I was that person too! I was ALWAYS afraid I was pregnant if precum came anywhere near me, so I understand just the general anxiety of it.
But let’s just start with facts:
1) a man has to get his sperm inside your vagina to get you pregnant
2) at this time, you must also be fertile and ready to drop an egg when his sperm is there (but since most teens don’t track this, ALWAYS use condoms)
3) precum can get you pregnant, but it’s very unlikely. If there are live sperm cells stuck in the penis, they won’t live longer than a day or two and they’ll be washed (mostly) out when he pees anyway. Once again, CONDOMS.
4) sperm cells don’t live in air for very long at all, so getting some on your hand, and then later (after a wash especially) touching your vagina won’t get you pregnant.
5) birth control is always a good idea if you’re sexually active, but they do not protect against STIs, so once again CONDOMS
6) have your partner get tested before having sex with them (if they’ve had sex in the past) and if they refuse, they’re not worth having sex with
7) get tested reg if you have multi partners, it’s nothing to be ashamed of and it could be detrimental to your fertility
8) sex isn’t a race, you don’t have to be in a hurry to do it. Wait until someone is really worth your sexual encounter. It doesn’t have to be a forever person, or even someone you love (though it should be, but that’s more personal preference) but it does have to be someone you trust!
I know there’s probably PLENTY of things that could be added, so feel free to comment with extra advise and I hope this helps some of you less experienced teens to lose the anxiety attached to sex and pregnancy.
Good luck in your lives ladies 💕💕💕
