Gestational diabetes test refusal/symptoms?

Do you have any symptoms of this? I’ve been so sick this whole pregnancy I can’t imagine being able to stomach the drink. I don’t eat sugary anything, besides some fruit.

Talk with your doctor about your concerns. But you don’t just show symptoms with gestational diabetes. The test is a recommended out of safety to your health and your babies. In the long run it’s an 8 ounce drink. I think people complaining about having to do it have made many scared to do it. Eat before but not during that will help. And it doesn’t take that horrible.

There is no symptoms associated with GD. I wouldn’t refuse the test. Yes it may taste nasty, yes you may feel icky after but it is a short lived thing to know you are healthy and that your baby is also healthy

I had the test today. The drink wasn't bad at all! I had fruit punch. I drank it in 4 minutes. Everyone scared me because they said I would feel horrible afterward, but I never felt any effects from it.

I didn’t find it to be bad at all. The drink was fine and I could tell the sugar rush was happening and I had a headache afterwards but totally worth it to know I’m healthy.

I completed a fasting test first and as that came back okay I didnt need to do the drink test, however, if it wasnt okay I would of had to do it

I’ve heard of some women being able to eat candy really high in sugar because the drink made them sick. Doesn’t hurt to ask. The drink really isn’t that bad though

You could request to monitor your blood sugar at home after meals for 4 days. Gives way more accurate results and also prevents you from having to force your body into a sugar high and then crash.
