What's it really like to be a teenage parent?

I just read a post written by a fourteen year old girl who wants to have a baby and is insistant that she is going to do so before she turns 16...being 18 and pregnant myself, I honestly don't understand this? So my question to you teen parents/parents to be...what's it really like for you? What is your experience?

everyone's situation is different. I was 13 when I got pregnant, but I got homeschooled and got her into day care as soon as she was old enough and then I went back to public school. I devote all of my time after school to taking care of her. I don't spend time with my friends unless it's later that night after she goes to sleep. anyone can manage to have a kid at a young age, if they're willing to try. it's just that most aren't.

I got pregnant at 16 and had my son at 17. NOT on purpose!!! It's not easy, but my four month old is the best thing that ever happened to me. Babies are not something you can play with only when you want to, it's a 100% of your day thing. There is a lot of happy and joyous moments. But there is also many sleepless nights. Then comes the shots. No matter how strong you think you are, it's gonna break your heart. Or the moments when you baby doesn't want you and you can't figure out what to do. Parenting is hard. But it's amazing!!!! I'm not justifying teen pregnancy/ parenting.

15 years old, and I had been dating "the love of my life" on and off since I was 10years old. He's two years older than me.. So around the time he was 16 he wanted a baby .. I was 14. We tried and nothing happened. So I just thought I CANT GET PREGNANT. So I stop having sex with him because we had broken up and he had slept with another girl. So around January 2015, we got back together and in April we had sex again.. And I did get pregnant. Since then we have fought SO many times.. He's not in my life or his sons anymore.. He doesn't care about anyone but his self. Life has been so hard.. Pregnancy is hard, telling people is hard. A baby is not as easy as you think! Yes, it's a mircle and a blessing 😍, and yes I love my son more than anything in this whole wide world! But it's going to be tough.. Definitely at this age. Just wait! So you can share it with your husband, you would love them coming to your appointments, and y'all shopping for baby things, and y'all picking out his name.. All things .. Me and my babies dad can not do ...

im 16 & 10wks pregant, i dont know how anyone any younger than me can do this, it has been so hard for me & my family i thank god that i have a verysupportive partner no matter what it is a very hard & rough change in life. i raied my neice at 13 & that was so hard but for family i had to help. i cant evan imagine being any younger & expecting a child. i dont know how other teen moms opinion or how they have adapted to the major change but i know that being a mom is a full time job. honestly anyone that is 13 & pregnant isnt the smartest idea. you have many years of school left & it will be very hard to do anything. evan for me now its so hard to do alot with my friends heck i have no friends anymore because i got pregnant& that was a big change for me. but this is my personal opinion.

I haven't had my baby yet but I'm going to tell you it's hard! If you don't have a good job or anything there is no way you can take care of a baby. I'm seventeen and due in October. I'm extremely lucky that the baby's father has a great job that pays well and that my family has many things for us to use. For me, it'll be better because of my boyfriends age, he is 29. Yeah yeah, it's 'too old' but my family knows him and 100% supports us being together. Anyway, having a child isn't for fun. You can't do it because it looks cool or stuff like that. It's another human being that will be relying on you for everything! You have to take care of that child for the next 18+ years and teach it everything! It isn't for everyone but some people know what they want. I had two pregnancies before this one and this one is the only 'kinda' planned one. I've always wanted a child and I'm just getting my wish early. It's truly hard work, you cannot be a teen anymore. Say goodbye to parties and that life because you're a parent now. You cannot be living like
that with a child.

Anyway, totally rambling, don't plan a baby unless you are financially, emotionally, and mentally ready for one.

I'm 16 and the only way I know I can do this is because I have a school in my town that will help me with school if I didn't this would be too hard
