Would you keep your child in daycare if you discovered that the teacher smokes outside on breaks during the day?

I found the perfect daycare set up but I discovered there is a strong possibility the teacher takes smoke breaks outside during the day.  Not sure what to do...

Her smoking away from the kids has no impact on her abilities as a care taker. I personally hate cigarettes and my only issue would be if my child came home smelling like smoke,  other than that,  as long as she does her job,  it's fine.

No, I wouldn’t.  If she’s not smoking around my kid where there is a direct contact issue then it’s fine.  People on here talking about third hand smoke 😂😂... not saying it’s not a real thing, but If you’re going to that kind of extreme, then never take your kid outside bc our air is way more polluted than anything third hand smoke will do and our food is pumped full of chemicals but everyone still takes their kid to McDonald’s on occasion 🤷🏽‍♀️

I agree that if she was smoking around my kid i would take him out and be upset but if she’s smoking away from the kids on her own time and your child doesn’t smell like smoke then I guess let it go I don’t know I’m actually torn I hate smoking and would be mad if she stunk like a ash tray or something and was handling my son but if not then I’d let it pass

No. Third hand smoke increases the chance of SIDS. I doubt there is a shower and change of clothes in between the breaks. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have actually toured a childcare with really good ratings and the teacher came and introduced herself to me, I instantly smelled a light smell of cigarette smoke on her. It seemed like a great place also! But for that reason I did not enroll my daughter....

I HATE the smell and think it's gross (and i used to smoke) so I would tske my daughter out if I could smell it even a little bit

I would probably take my baby out the minute I found out, even if she’s smoking outside and away from them third hand smoking is real.
