So my mother took credit cards out in my name and I’m just finding out 2.5 years later and a large debt. After the cc company did an investigation they said it was not fraudulent (probably bc my mother and I have same last name) so they won’t remove it from my credit report. My credit score is very low and I will need to get an apartment and car next semester. My mother has been very mean and nasty with me and won’t own up to her mistakes (claims she only did it bc she was struggling as a single mother). I don’t want to file legal charges but don’t know what else to do. It is a felony and she will go to jail for 1-3 years
