How long after delivery did you start working from him again?

So I just had my second child three weeks ago and am trying to gage when to start back working on my companies from home - graphic design and photography. I’m breastfeeding and have a 3 1/2 year old to work with as well. I took 9 weeks of leave after my daughter was born but I was working a 9-5 job then. Just would like some advice.

with #2 I had a wedding booked for Oct 22 and I was due Sept 23. She was born on Sept 22 so I was exactly 4 wks PP when I shot that all day wedding that I had to travel 8 hours too (hubby and baby traveled with me for me to BF her when not shooting). I had no issues at all but hurt by the end of the day and the next day. I had to pump every 3 hours but thankfully my Spectra pump made it quick and easy anywhere I could find a private spot. this time I am not only running my newest business as a wedding planner but also building our venue (on 152 acres) and a nonprofit as well. I will prob take 3 to 4 weeks off if I can from the NP and venue unless deadlines have to be met after he is born. I dont plan to do anything in the hospital but if I have to to get it done I will while he sleeps. We are on a tight deadline to be up and running so I will do what it takes. Thankfully working from home allows me to do what I need to do. As far as wedding planning...I have marked off 2 months and may take more if I want too.

I clicked other because I’m still on leave, (we get 12-18months maternity leave here). But to me 3 weeks sounds a bit early, your body is still healing, I’d say wait til your post partum check up & ask your doctor?

I took 4 months off with my 1st and I'll probably take 5 with my second. (Teacher) I was battling very bad post partum depression. I'm taking the extra time off with my next because it will be my last baby I'm getting my tubes tied after 2nd baby comes out healthy.

Honestly, you work for yourself so it is pretty much between you, your family and your doctor! If you are jonesing to get back out there and work, I would talk to my husband and discuss what your new reality as a family would look like (Schedules, appointments, watching kiddos ect...) if you feel well enough, check with your doc to find out the earliest you can be cleared to work. Do yourself a favor and start things SLOWLY,  leave plenty of time for baby bonding and being together as a family, even though you have your own businesses, it doesn't mean it will always leave extra time for you to be a human so don't ever forget "Me Time" 😊 Remember, a happy, healthy Mommy means a happy healthy family!!

I'm going on 5 months of not working. (I do have the option too work from home) but with my girl in and out of the hospital it's hard to work. we where admitted for the 3rd time yesterday after her surgery.

I took 5 months off. (RN) But my return to work also caused my supply to tank and I was only ever able to pump a minimal amount. So that was also essentially the end of breastfeeding for us. As sad as that made me. My son would comfort suckle but there was hardly any flow.

I was working in the hospital because I was bored out of my mind haha I maybe took a week off. If that. Newborns sleep so much so again, I would have been super bored if I hadn’t used that time to get some work done.
