High Risk?

Question

Hoping you ladies can give me some insight! I have 3 children and I'm currently pregnant with number 4! Over the moon with joy!!! Buuut can't help but think about my previous pregnancies. Each were premature. First at 35 weeks, second at 34 weeks and third at 27 weeks. I was never labeled high risk with any of them and no explanation whatsoever on why my children are born premature. My first appointment with Ob is May 7th. So my questions to you ladies are: Are my chances pretty high of being high risk? And if I am what should I expect with being a high risk pregnancy? All comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

You should definitely be considered high risk, especially given how early you had your 3rd baby. I lost my daughter at 23 weeks due to an incompetent cervix. This time around I have to have a cervical cerclage put into place at 12-14 weeks and at 16 weeks I’ll start progesterone shots until I’m 36 weeks. I’d ask your OB if they think you’d benefit from the progesterone shots because it will help thicken the lining of your uterus and your cervix. I know a few women who went through the same situation and they had great outcomes.

High risk can be hard because of CONSTANT monitoring. But it's worth it. I have had two consecutive losses. My last being at 32 weeks so I am high risk. 
I'm only 6+3 and have my THIRD ultrasound Tuesday. 
Once I hit 20 weeks I'll be having monitoring 2x a week every single week. 
Once at 28-30 weeks I will be admitted for constant monitoring until delivery which will 100% be c section. 
Once you are high risk, you need that extra care to ensure your little one and you will be okay and have the best choices made. 
Just always remember you have the final say in any decisions. Thinking of you ❤️

yes you should be considered high risk and there is a major chance you will give birth early again. I was put on bed rest which was almost impossible for me because I was a single mother but I tried to rest as much as possible even though it was hard with the children they put me on medications to help keep baby in I repeatedly went into pre-term labor they gave me shots and how my arm I was hospitalized multiple times but baby stayed in and at a certain point they took me off medication and said it was okay to give birth within that time I had her 4 days later. I though had never had early pregnancies or had that quick of a labor now that I am pregnant with number for single mother again working full-time they immediately considered me a high-risk obviously I have other factors but most likely I'll be put on the same medications that I was the last time we'll see I think the biggest thing to expect is a lot more doctor's visits usually you go every two weeks then as it gets later you go once a week you usually get a lot of ultrasounds at least in my case is I did and a lot of blood work

Just wanted to echo what someone else said about progesterone shots. My sister in law has had preterm labor with all four of her kids, but since taking progesterone shots in the third trimester, her delivery dates have improved from 34/35 weeks to 37/38 weeks.

you should def be labelled HR if your Dr doesn't I'd get a different Dr. bed rest should have been implemented in your previous pregnancies. I'd definitely put myself on at least partial bed rest towards the third tri.
