You do have to ovulate to get pregnant. The egg only survives for around 24 hrs...but sperm can last up to 5days. So, no, you don’t have to be ovulating the exact time you have sex, but you have to ovulate within a few days.

as someone who went through infertility treatment.... trust me. you need to be ovulating. ovulating is pretty much a 4 day fertile window because the sperm lives longer than the egg. if you have sex the day before you ovulate... you can get pregnant because the sperm is still alive in there. My doctor did my IUI the day AFTER I ovulated and I got pregnant.

Im confused at the people who said no or it can happen anytime?? ...Lol .. you have to ovulate to get pregnant .. your body must release an egg and to have any possibility to get pregnant ..
