MUST middle names honor family?

If you feel like you don’t want to honour anyone, or have too many people to honour so you decide not to, but other family wants you to honour someone, what would you do? I appreciate thoughts!

I put never because no one is obligated to do something they don’t want to do. 
However, I personally do love having a family name in my children’s name too 😊 my husband and I are yet to have a boy to carry his last name on so the least we can do is carry some family names on! Lol

They don’t have to. Mine isn’t after anyone, my mom just liked the sound of it. My sister got a family name for her middle name... and I don’t envy it 😂 (it’s Stuart 😬)

This is how we feel - we made sure no one in our family had any of the names we chose for first and middle because we did not want anyone to feel slighted or anyone to feel superior.

I would love to honor a family member with a middle name but it was too hard to decide. This might be our last child and if we give her my mother's middle name I don't want my MIL to feel left out, same for my grandmothers. So we will probably go with something non-family related and neutral.

It’s up to you. One son shares his middle name with his dad. Our other sons middle name has zero to do with family.
