Is ghosting a sport in online dating community?

Innke

I've had a boyfriend from OkCupid for a few months until he decided to forever ignore me. So I went back on Tinder and OkCupid.

There was a guy from OkCupid, who I was writing with, who ended his last messege by "We'll hear from each other" and then he disabled his account.

I was chatting with one Tinder guy, who asked if we can move to WhatsApp. I said yeah, but I don't have much time to chat at the moment. He gave me his number anyway. I wrote to him on WhatsApp and that was it.

Another OkCupid guy chatted with me for hours this morning until I stopped it because I had things to do. He told me to have a nice day and that he'd later tell me a story. I wrote to him when I had some time and he never answered, though he was online several times since then.

And the last guy (Tinder) invited me for a drink whenever next week. I gave him a day and never heard from him again.

I know that with the last two it's been just half a day of silence and it's weekend, but anyway it feels like I won't hear from them again and I can't figure out why.

There were others, of course, but when a guy asks you about your expectations from Tinder and you say anything but "sex, no strings", it makes sense when they stop writing.

It's just so confusing. Especially the Tinder guys, who ask for more contact and stop answering when they get it. How is a girl supposed to make sense of that?

Sorry, rant over
