Just Friends??

One of my very good friends recently told me that he likes me and has for a while now. At the time I was feeling lonely and down and told him I liked him too, but now I’m questioning. We share so many common interests and there shouldn’t be a reason why I don’t like him, but when he asked me on a date later that day I immediately thought of every excuse I could make to not go. I don’t feel nervous and excited around him like I have around other guys I’ve liked, but I don’t know if I’m just talking myself out of the situation or not. Any advice?
