Sibling bedroom sharing?

My husband and I are looking to buy a home in our area. We fell in love with a two bedroom home, but I’m on the fence about the bedrooms. We have an 8 month old daughter and my husband has a 5 year old son that visits every other weekend. (My stepson’s mother lives out of state, so that’s why we don’t see him very often.) Anyway, we live in a 3 bedroom apartment now so the kids have their own rooms. My husband hates the idea of them having to share a room, but his son is also not here with us very often. Anyone have any tips?

Hm, I am currently pregant and we have decided if it's a girl we will be moving so our son won't have to share a room with her. Just our preference though.

Personally, I wouldn’t want my kids to have to share a room. They’ll have much different interests (not just because of being different genders) and will need their own personal space growing up. I also feel like having their own space to take care of can give them a sense of responsibility that they need for when they are old enough to move out/go to college. Definitely your choice, though! I know how hard it is to find a house, so if it’s the best fit for your family I’m sure you guys can find a way to make it work.

I have this exact same issue. My husbands kids are only here on school vacations because of how far away they live. And we have our 2 girls that live here full time and his son and daughter that come on vacation. His son has his own bedroom that’s never used and our 8 month old still sleeps in our room so she doesn’t wake her sister in the night. It’s exhausting for sure but I get it too. He is a boy and much older and deserves his own space. If they were both girls I’d say it isn’t an issue.
