What realistic actions can we take to help preserve Mother Earth?

Consider cloth diapering. People hear it and say “gross, no.” Yes poop is gross but you still have to deal with it if you have a baby. I don’t think the US does well with this at all. Second, reusable grocery bags. They are kind of expensive here at $4 a bag, whereas the plastic are free, so there really isn’t any incentive for people to use these if the environment and staying green isn’t a priority for them.

I think everyone contributing a little bit or making at least one small change can help. You can stop buying water bottles, repurpose items you have instead of tossing them, donate items you don’t need or buy used, use reusable shopping bags instead, etc.

One small solution I’m interested in is urban composting, since at least half of my trash is compostable, and I have no green space if my own. 
I’d like to see my city start offering pickup for a reasonable rate. As it stands only private companies do pick up, and it’s hella expensive.

Stop voting for political parties that don’t believe in climate change and want to deregulate environmental protections. In the US, this basically means abandoning the Republican Party. I take many personal actions to minimize my carbon footprint (composting, driving and flying less, buying fuel efficient vehicles, recycling, minimizing disposable consumption, etc) but we need policy makers to take action above the level any one person can enact. Vote your values—no matter what you believe about taxation, abortion, immigration, or any other issue, those issues cease to matter if we don’t have a viable planet to argue about them on.

Stop drinking and eating out of plastic. That iced coffee cup and straw will be on earth for 500 years, so will that bottle of water or pop you just chugged in 2 minutes. Just try to eliminate plastic use all together. Use glass or steel.

Help save the bees and butterfly's! They do so much for us. Without them, we wouldn't have much of an earth. Trees, plants, flowers, they'd all die. We'd all die! So... I try to plant as much as I possibly can to help give them an adequate food source free of harsh chemicals and pesticides to hopefully help increase the population. I want my yard to bee 🐝 a safe haven for them. 😊 Last year, there were 6 types of bees that were placed on the endangered species list, and the other day I posted some pictures of some honey bees in my yard, and someone from Alabama said he was furious about what has happened to the honey bees... he said all the honey bees had been wiped out there, due to genetic engineering and the use of pesticides... containing harmful chemicals such as agent orange and others. He said there wasn't any honey bees left in Alabama. Whether that's completely true or not... idk... but it's terrible! So... I think if we all took the time to try to help the bees out, that would be great!

We need to:
 #1 pass legislation in all countries to reduce the usage of plastic especially in everyday items
#2 we need to find the least problematic form of sustainable energy or simply use a variety of sustainable energy so we can stop using up all our resources on one thing and diversify. 
#3 we need to cut CO2 emissions in half by the end of the next five years and this is because the ice caps are melting and that will literally cover almost all of Florida, which is already starting to have flood issues. Also there is way too much CO2 being absorbed by the ocean and it’s causing it to become more acidic which degrades the shells of shellfish leaving them more vulnerable to predators. 
#4 we need to change the way we catch seafood and also the types of seafood we eat. Check out 3D ocean farming which can create enough food for millions of people and is zero input. Also check out the seafood red list for fish you can avoid that are not caught sustainably.
