So there’s this guy that I’m friends with (I’m super close with his fam, his mom is like my second mom and they literally have me a horse but that’s besides the point). I’ve known him since we were in 1st grade and my older sis used to babysit us and his younger sisters. I had a huge crush on him when we were little, but he got held back in 3rd grade, so we didn’t really talk after that even tho we’re at the same school. I’m a senior and he’s a junior now and I only recently started having guy friends bc of family issues so that’s still kinda weird for me. Anywho my 18th bday was back in October and he literally organized an entire surprise bday party for me bc I wasn’t gonna do anything, and then took me swing dancing that night. At that point in time I had been distracted by this jerk dude that I had liked for a while but really wanted to get over bc he sucked. So finally I’m getting over him and then notice that this guys super nice and does nice things for me and is funny and cute and I had just been too blind by the old crush to see it. I had no idea if he liked me bc there was this other girl that he might’ve been into. I have never asked a guy if he liked me before but at the end of February I actually got the guts to do it, and he said no, but that he really cared about me and thought of me as a sister. I was honestly ok with it bc it’s just a guy, and I was glad to know so I could quit getting my hopes up. It was a little awkward for a little while but then we went back to normal. Last Friday night our school had a 50’s dance (Grease theme basically) and I was dressed like Sandy and he was kinda dressed like Danny so we took pics together. And then on Saturday I was at his house for a school bonfire and I was hanging with his mom and she was holding his phone and showed me that his background was the pic of us. So I’m trying to ignore it and move on but it’s really hard, especially bc one of my friends suggested a while ago that he actually did like me and was too scared to tell me back when I asked but I don’t think that’s true.
