Advice ??

Question

I go to a pentecostal church. We believe in getting baptize and being filled with the holy ghost . I have a boyfriend who doesn’t know any of that stuff . He doesn’t believe being baptized will wash all of his sins away . I explained that God did it so show us an example of what we should do . I don’t know if I want to give up on him.

Baptism doesn't wash your sins away. It is only an outward symbol of an inward heart change. Jesus is the only way to have all your sins removed.

read 2 corinthians 6:14. All you can do is faothfully pray and lead by example. you cannot convict him only God is able to change the heart if He chooses to so. Leave your request at the altar and let God do His will... what ever that may be, but if you truly love him be patient.

Religion is a deeply personal experience, and you can't force anyone to believe something. You can share your love for God, and invite him to come and worship with you. Don't pressure him to get baptized, or do anything else he's not comfortable with.  It's doesn't have to be a deal breaker to date someone who doesn't share your beliefs, but it can be incredibly hard to have this huge part of your life that you don't share. However, just as you should expect him to respect your religious beliefs, you must also respect his nonreligious beliefs. You don't have to agree, but you still have to be respectful.
