I've seen a lot of posts from young girls recently asking about whether it's ok for them to date older guys. As someone in her late 20s dating a guy 14 years older than me, I want to tell you not to worry about other people's opinions on your relationship. If you are over 18, you are an adult and can make your own decisions. Personally I would caution you about getting seriously involved if you are under 21, but trust your gut if you like the guy. On average men take longer to mature than women so if you haven't had much luck with young guys, don't disqualify the older ones because of a few grey hairs. My man has more emotional baggage to deal with than a guy my own age, but we work through it together. He has been the healthiest, most stable relationship in my life, and he has helped me grow into a more mature woman. When I feel insecure, he reassures me not to worry and that everything will be okay. We talk out our problems instead of being passive aggressive. Even in our rough patches, we try to build each other back up instead of giving up. Not only can a relationship with an older man work, but I honestly prefer it to dating guys in their 20s.
