Is it fair for a guy you met online to get mad if you question whether the pictures are real?
So I've been talking to a guy that I met online off and on for probably 3 months now... His pictures on his dating site profile, as well as the handful he's sent to me, are obnoxiously attractive... Like I usually pass up guys like him because they are probably fake pictures, or want nothing to do with someone like me... But I took a shot on this guy... He always calls me "babe", or "sexy", or "gorgeous"... Now I can admit, I have very little self confidence... But I have struggled so much from the start believing that he'd be interested in me, especially that much... But, aside from that, nearly every "candid" picture I've gotten is of "his" washboard abs... He never wants to talk on the phone or video chat. We were supposed to meet once and he disappeared on me for a few weeks. He reappeared, apologizing, saying he was fighting depression... Which I totally understand. I've been there...
But today, after he asked what I really thought about him, which I responded that I couldn't really answer honestly because we don't know each other that well yet, I broke down and asked for a picture of himself, right now in this moment. I even included a picture of my ratty self on my way to work (I work in a factory)... He sent one from "last night" which was still, very posed and insanely adorable...
He asked why I wanted one, and I told him the truth. I explained why I felt that way and apologized if I offended him... But now he's not speaking to me.
Was I really that wrong to question it?
