How accurate is ultrasound weight??

They say my baby is about 4 lbs so far and I’m just wondering how accurate ultrasound are when it comes to weight

my doctor said that it can be two lbs off either way. Mom's instinct is normally closer..  and I have to say, I guessed my son would be 8 lbs 5 oz... and he was exactly!!

They say it can be off by 1lb either way. Sometimes it’s dead on and sometimes it’s even more off than 1 lb

At 38w we were measuring 7lbs 11oz...baby girl was born yesterday (40+2) and was 8lbs 5oz. When we were at the ultrasound they told us to give or take a pound for an approximation that the ultrasound measurement isn’t exact.

From what I understand it can off by 10. They said my son was going to be 9 lbs he was 6 4.

with my daughter at 38 weeks they said oh she will be small at birth maybe 6lbs. she was 8 lbs 2 oz. they aren't accurate because they guesstimate based on length. they have no way of telling exactly how much fat/weight baby has.
