vaginal pain

Brandi • Mommy of a beautiful bouncing boy👶

so I'm 5 weeks postpartum and have yet to stop bleeding and passing thumb sized clots(something I'm still not sure is 100% normal) but as of yesterday my vagina feels ache like it's been stretched too much.

I mean I know I pushed a baby out but it hasn't been hurting until yesterday, any mom's experience this?

I'm new to motherhood and this postpartum mess I'm in..

I had a really hard time after baby. I’m not sure what kind of tearing you might have had... but I had 3rd degree. My pain was so bad I didn’t want to sit and it hurt to move. The few things I found to help me out were:1. Sitz baths or usage of the Peri bottle every time I used the rest room or changed my pad. I used warm water and I would rinse several times each visit to the restroom. It helps SOO much.2. Dermoplast cooling spray... in the blue bottle! Don’t get the red kind it absolutely kills. I used the red bottle once and I about passed out, lol.3. Witch hazel or tuck pads to line your pad. Sounds weird but they really help.4. This might sound bad but Norco was my best friend that and Tylenol 3 that was prescribed. I had to take it... 🤷🏻‍♀️there is no way I could’ve survived my tearing without it.Sorry you don’t feel good yet! The road to recovery is so tough. Don’t be afraid to schedule an extra post baby appointment. Tell them how you are feeling and insist to be checked for infection.

Lucky duck! My labor was kind of long but I only had to push a handful of times. Baby was sunny side up so she did a ton of internal damage. Externally I was fine, it was so weird! But yeah, do schedule yourself in. It’s important for you mentally as well as physically. Maybe some sort of epsom salt bath would help the discomfort? I’m not sure if it’s allowed or not, but epsom salt is a great soother.
