13 year old boy advice

Hi! I am in need of some advice. My boyfriends son just moved to town, he is having to start a new school for the remainder of the year and hasn’t made friends yet. His birthday is next weekend and I want to make him feel special and welcomed but not sure what to do with no friends? He is turning 14. Thanks!
