Too rural for infertility treatment?

Meg • TTC after losing our baby girl at 37 weeks 👼🏻

Backstory: my husband and I are both 32. We both have children from other relationships. We want one (just one) together. We’ve been trying for four years now. His semen analysis showed low count and morphology. My cycles are regular but I need progesterone supplements to sustain a pregnancy (was this way with my other pregnancies). I’ve had one miscarriage in those 4 years.

My OBGYN here won’t give me progesterone to sustain a pregnancy even with my history of miscarriages. He is the only OBGYN in the area that will consider “treating infertility” which in his mind is Clomid and monitoring even if I ovulate regularly and have no cycle issues.

I’ve looked everywhere in my area and the closest fertility clinic to me is 6 hours away.

It’s already so expensive to have things like IUI and

IVF

but to also pay for round trips, hotels, food, missing work for both of us etc. is so daunting.

Any suggestions or advice? How did you or do you afford all of it?

P.s. thanks in advance for taking the time!!

P.p.s. Lol I also know that fertility treatments can result in multiples and am prepared for that...I meant we want one successful pregnancy ☺️
