me & ex bf

ok peeps i never post on here but just tryna get different opinions from people. i dated this guy for over a year and ive been madly in love with him since the day i met him. we’ve been broken up for a year now and my feelings havent changed one bit-hes still the only person i see myself being with. we got in touch a month ago after not speaking the whole time we were broken up & we ended up hooking up. we’ve been hooking up the past month now but just as friends. i can tell theres still such a strong connection between us & i could see it in the way he is that hes holding back sooo much of his feelings for me. i just hate that he wont tell his best friends about us-so they encourage him to be with other girls. he told me he hooked up with someone sat night but only because she was just there and his boys told him to go for it. am i wasting my time or should i trust my gut instinct that he just needs some more time to do his thing & wait for him?
