Sitting in the ER - miscarriage likely

So I found out I was pregnant Sunday - wends woke up to bleeding and I knew deep down it was not good ... my hcg levels were only 97 ... today I went to the ER because the bleeding was progressing ... doctor has done labs (I’m waiting on results) but isn’t doing an ultrasound due to how early I am but is pretty positive I am miscarrying ... my question is how long did it take those who miscarried at 5 weeks to pass it all ? Right now my bleeding is spotting really ... cramps are mild but I am just wanting it to happen quick and not be a long drawn out process ... I plan to immediately try again as it took me almost a year to get pregnant and our son is almost 7 so I was hopeful ... also this early is there usually a d&c; needed ?
