Advice needed:asking a guy out.

So I asked my manger out for a cup of coffee. He quietly responded with “we can’t”.

I was starving and weak kneed from nerves so I had to make a quick escape before I did something to further my stupidity.

He didn’t say “no” nor “I’m not interested”

Should I take it as a good sign? Bad? Neutral?

I can’t describe how I feel about this guy, the combination of butterflies and aches puts it at a strange point of feeling. I’m not disheartened but the way he said it makes me want to challenge the entire work force just so we can get a damn cup of coffee to test the waters.
