What's going on with me?

I've always been somewhat irregular, usually 28-30 day cycle but it varies month to month. Currently I am day 31, but for the last 4 days it sort of acts like it's starting. Mild cramps here and there which is normal for me the day before/of my period starting. What's unusual is the brown discharge. 4 (going on 5) days of brown discharge. No signs of actual blood. I am in the middle of changing doctors, but I plan to make an appointment with the new doctor when I can. But if anyone here has any idea to what's going on, I'd love to hear what you think.
