Sorry I just have to vent. I work with middle school kids and one 4th grader and I cannot believe how many of them do not know how to eat with their mouths closed. And not even that that smack their lips and it’s the most disgusting sound!! 🤢 I constantly have to ask kids to chew with their mouths closed and they look at me like I asked them to turn into a chicken or something crazy! Then 2 minutes later they’re back to chomping and I cannot stand it! I can remember having family dinners with my parents and them teaching me at a super young age to chew politely because it’s honestly gross to watch people eat with their mouths open...not just a weird societal norm we force people to stick to in my opinion. I’ve seen this with shoe tying too, when I worked for a woman with two kids in elementary school who complained that they weren’t learning how to tie their shoes at school! I feel like those types of things should be the parents responsibility and it’s lacking these days.

Am I crazy?? Anyone else who works with kids feel this way?
