Breastfeeding #2?

I had problems breastfeeding my first LO...have any of y’all had problems breastingfeeding the first one and no problems with the second? I want to breastfeed this little boy so bad! It killed me needing to put my baby girl on formula. Not that formula is bad...it’s just that I missed that closeness with her and she had trouble adapting to the formula.

With my first I had to use a nipple shield to help because he never latched properly. Despite four different lactation consultants trying to help I was never able to wean him off the shield. Led to 3 episodes of mastitis and many plugged ducts. Also had to supplement with him because he was never able to drain me. Did 6 months with him. My second latched on 2 minutes out the womb and had no problems with her (other than biting) for ten months. She was super chunky and full all the time and never had to supplement. I had low supply with my first and had to supplement and was never able to exclusively breastfeed, so I eventually gave up. 
My second is a month old and has only been breastfed. My supply is great this time. I have a good freezer stash stocked up too so when I go back to work, his grandma can feed him. 
So yes, it is possible to breastfeed your second if it didn’t work for your first.
