Right to be mad?

My boyfriend lives about an hour away from me. Today I had work until 10 and he asked me to come stay the night and I said okay I'll call you when I get there so you can open the door... I get there around 11, call him about 7 times with no answer, so I go up to his room and knock on his door for about another 5 min with still no answer. I know he is there because his car is there though... So I text him that I'm just going to leave and the least he could have done was unlock the door for me so I could get in. So now I just wasted two hours when I'm absolutely tired from work, wasted gas, and am upset that I don't get to stay the night with him... Do I have a right to be mad? I know it's late and he had probably fallen asleep but I feel like he could have at least left the door unlocked... And I don't really know what to say when he does text me in the morning... I just feel so mad right now
